First we ensure the surfaces to be applied are completely smooth and free from pits or protrusions. We then apply a primer coat using a traditional roller and paint brush for the edges. This primer serves as an alkalinity barrier and etching coat to help adhesion and patterning of the Lucidato Plaster. The first layer of Lucidato venetian plaster is skilfully applied using specially prepared stainless steel plastering floats and left to dry hard. The second layer is applied in a similar fashion and again allowed to dry hard. We apply the third layer of plaster and then use burnishing techniques to bring a sheen to the surface of the plaster as it hardens. A specially formulated bees wax is applied to protect the plaster and buffed up to enhance the fantastic qualities of well applied Lucidato Plaster. |
